Hello, my name
is Jeronimo De Leon
I am the founder of Welcome.AI. I was born in the Philippines, I grew up in Sydney, Australia and now live in New York City. I'm on a mission to help people learn about artificial intelligence and move into the next industrial revolution.
A dent in the universe
I moved to New York City to build a great company because if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. I've always had a passion for creating things, from art, writing, and more so designing and developing products.
Career in technology
I've been in the digital space since 2000, with experience as a designer, developer, UX, product and producer managing design and development teams. I've worked in big corporations, such as Time Inc and News Corp, developed my own startups and worked at a handful of award-winning creative digital marketing agencies.
Artificial Intelligence
For four and a half years, I worked on digital marketing projects for IBM Watson, their data science, Cloud, and developer products. I'm also a certified IBM Watson application developer. Throughout that time, I grew a passion for AI and how it is changing industries. I've also consulted for companies on how they would adopt AI and helped companies train their chatbot.
Welcome.AI
Welcome.AI started as a passion project in late 2016. I did competitive research on AI companies for work, and I wanted to build a resource to house all the AI information in one place. Throughout 2018, consulting for companies to adopt AI and speaking with AI companies, I saw there was an opportunity for a platform to help all companies discover, learn, and adopt AI. Going through YC Startup School in late 2018, I relaunched the site and went full time in Jan 2019.
